Book a Street Artist

The platform is an online marketplace that allows both private and corporate clients to explore and hire outstanding artists for various events. The process involves submitting an inquiry, receiving recommendations, negotiating with the selected artist, making a payment, and ultimately realizing the event or performance.

My Role

My Role

At Book a Street Artist, my task was to create a new brand identity and transform manual processes into an automated client flow.

Challenges

Challenges

Due to the existing database structure, it was not feasible to navigate through the normal tree structure with a flat or deep hierarchy. However, the product vision aimed to introduce a new branding and implement an almost fully automated client flow, which encompasses the entire process from the initial search tool, through inquiry submission, and concludes with payment and invoicing.

Solutions

Solutions

Our primary focus was to provide enhanced support to our clients, and we began by developing a robust search feature. As the designer, I created the initial interface with a flexible search engine and filter bubbles that display 16 search results closely linked to the user's searched phrase.

Once a client submits a generic or specific inquiry from the artist page, we forward it to the selected artist. The primary function of our website is to act as a mediator between clients and artists during the request and negotiation process. To facilitate this, we designed an inquiry-handling flow that allows artists to accept or decline bookings, review the inquiry, calculate pricing, communicate with clients, and ultimately create and send an offer.

The client flow is a condensed version of the artist flow, with a preview of the inquiry, a chat section, and an option to accept the offer by submitting payment. We conducted two iterations of each flow, and the results are summarized below.

Following an extensive round of user testing, we implemented the second iteration of improvements, which focused on our Portuguese artists. This time, we conducted two variations of testing with a total of 11 testers.

The payment process is the final step in the booking process. In the first iteration, we integrated Stripe for payment processing and sent a booking confirmation via email.

However, in the second iteration, we introduced a billing information page, a tax reverse option, and the ability to generate an invoice. Additionally, we included booking confirmation at the final step of the payment process.

Results

Results

The project described above has resulted in several positive outcomes, including:

Improved user experience: The implementation of a strong search feature, automated client flow, and inquiry-handling flow has improved the overall user experience for clients and artists using the platform.

Streamlined booking process: Features such as booking confirmation, invoice generation, and tax reverse options have been added to the booking process, making it more efficient and reducing the potential for errors or miscommunications.

Increased revenue: The improvements to the user experience and booking process may have contributed to an increase in revenue for the platform and the artists using the platform.

Greater efficiency: By automating previously manual processes, the project has resulted in greater overall efficiency and reduced workload for the platform's staff.
